The fever dream of the first few nights of the 2024 Democratic National Convention, especially that celebratory roll call (that now has a verified Spotify playlist) is killing it in my hometown of Chicago. From the Obamas (Michelle made me cry) to ‘former president’ Fitz and Olivia Pope showing up to host, to Lil Jon setting Georgia up as the coolest state in the union, the DNC showed up and showed OUT!
Last time I remember being this excited for democracy was when Obama first ran for office. I did show up for Kamala Harris’ Oakland rally back when she was running for president over Biden in 2019. Now the possibility of her being the first female president and second president of color represents so much more. The change in the old guard is refreshing and dammit the DNC has the right to be so lit!
Also, tag me in Coach Walz! From his pep talk to this beautiful moment with his family, these are some of the greenest green flags I’ve ever seen. #HarrisWalz has me fully on board.

Reunions are meant to be MESSY. This one was mostly boring. So let’s go over the highs, woahs, and lows of the first (and probably last) reunion post-Fiji.

Highs
JaNa had my jaw dropping every time they swerved to her. She had the RECEIPTS! PROOF! TIMELINE! FUCKING EVERYTHING! She really is a future Real Housewife in-training.
Woahs
Kaylor FINALLY standing on business and telling Aaron all about himself and the absolute chaos he brought into her life, including the latest bombshell info about Casa Amor that he conveniently sat on until the lights, camera and most of America were watching. Serena cheered her on best, “Queen girl pussy boss.”
PPG + team putting Andrea in her place. That girl’s TikTok tantrums (and unfortunate millennial cringe that had the entire site making fun of her) lasted longer than her actual time on the show (4 WHOLE DAYS) and relationship with Rob. Now look where your 15 minutes got ya 🙄
Lows
Why were so many extras invited to sit on the couch?? I didn’t remember most of those people.
Who was in charge of the dress code? Ball dropped.
Why didn’t we address what the core cast is up to NOW instead of going over the same old drama??? If I never hear about another firepit vote or the name ‘Andrea’ ever again, it’ll still be too soon.
The most important lesson?
“Always be a girls’ girl,” to quote the indomitable queen Ms. JaNa Craig of Love Island season 6 fame and 1/3 of the PPG gang.
